Fontana and the Sacred theme:

The work is a study for the fifth door of the Milan Cathedral. His model for the new door, whose theme - "Origins and events of the cathedral" - had been suggested by Cardinal Schuster himself, stood out for its inventive and compositional originality, where the various episodes did not appear enclosed in precise boxes, but flowed in a free and lively narrative, giving the impression of a story in progression, rather than a succession of single and isolated episodes.

The one between Lucio Fontana and sacred art is an apparently unusual union. The general public associates this artist with the famous "cuts", an example of a disruptive, "desecrating" art despite investigating the mystery and invisible of religion.

Fontana's sacred-themed works are very rare and of great artistic and cultural value.

Almost all of these works are in the possession of the Church and have never been put up for sale.

This is a unique opportunity to have a piece of the history of modern Italian art and a testimony of Fontana's artistic and cultural journey.
