SALVO (Salvatore Mangione), was born in 1947 in Leonforte, Sicily, was an Italian artist who became a prominent figure in Turin's art scene. His early work in the 1960s included portraits and landscapes, and he was associated with the Arte Povera movement, collaborating with artists like Alighiero Boetti. In the 1970s, SALVO shifted towards conceptual art, creating marble inscriptions that explored themes of identity and history. Later, he returned to traditional painting, producing vibrant landscapes and cityscapes that drew inspiration from metaphysical art.

Recently, there has been a notable increase in the value of SALVO's artworks. This surge can be attributed to a growing recognition of his unique contributions to contemporary art, as well as increased interest from collectors and institutions. His works have been featured in prominent exhibitions and have achieved significant results at auctions, reflecting their rising demand and appreciation in the art market.
